Before there was Gold’s Gym exercise equipment, there was Gold’s Gym – a famous gym that started at California’s Muscle Beach. Heralded as the experts in all things bodybuilding and fitness related, Gold’s Gym then entered the home fitness market with their line of home fitness solutions.

Gold’s Gym Exercise Equipment
Gold’s Gym offers two primary types of home exercise equipment – weight training equipment and cardiovascular training equipment. They also offer fitness accessories. The workout machines are sold through major retailers alongside other brands of workout gear and equipment.
Weight Training Equipment
Gold’s Gym offers a number of options for weight and strength training in your home. Their line up features weight benches, weight machines and free weights. Some of the Gold’s Gym weight training equipment includes:
- Gold’s Gym GB 2000 Weight Bench – This bench is sold through authorized Gold’s Gym exercise equipment dealers and retails for about $650. The bench features an adjustable bench with an attached free-weight rack that allows users to perform a large number of upper body free-weight exercises including bench and military presses, seated biceps curls as well as incline and decline free-weight exercises. The bench also features a leg developer, a detachable curl yoke and a military press station. The bench accommodates Olympic-width weights up to 310 pounds. It also comes with an exercise guide.
- Gold’s Gym Power Flex – This levered weight system features stations to perform more than 65 strength training exercises. It features a dip station, a vertical knee raise station and benches and weights that allow you to train your full body. It also comes with an exercise DVD and flip chart to get you started. The Power Flex retails for around $2000 and is perfect for home gyms with space limitations.
- Gold’s Gym Power Series GS 2500 – This weight machine has up to 150 pounds of resistance in the form of vinyl weights. The GS 2500 is a compact piece of equipment with capabilities for a number of strength training exercises including a squat standing station, high pulley that allows over 15 exercises targeting the upper body and a low pulley that allows more than 40 exercises targeting your back, shoulders, chest, legs and more. It also comes with a hand and ankle strap, as well as an exercise chart. The GS2500 retails for around $400.
- Other benches – Gold’s Gym offers a number of weight benches that allow you to position yourself for working with dumbbells or barbells. The benches come in multiple configurations and positions without an attached weight rack. Retail price for these benches runs from $50 to about $200 depending on the bench.
- Weights – Gold’s Gym also offers a number of free weights, including dumbbells and barbells in various weights and configurations.
- Resistance Band/Tube – Also available from Gold’s Gym are resistance bands and tubing for light strength training. The bands come with instructional DVDs to get the most out of your workout.
Cardiovascular Equipment
Another type of Gold’s Gym exercise equipment is cardiovascular training equipment. The gym offers a wide variety of cardio training equipment, including a Gold’s Gym cardio training game for the Nintendo Wii.
- Gold’s Gym Strider – This affordable elliptical trainer sells for about $300. It has adjustable stride, ten resistance levels and eight pre-programmed workouts. An LCD tracks speed, time, distance and calories burned. It also has a heart rate monitor.
- Gold’s Gym Power Spin 230 Recumbent Bike – Retailing for about $250, this recumbent bike has a cushioned seat and well supported back. It has eight different workouts and a music port that allows you to plug in your MP3 player so that you can listen to your music through its speakers and not need head phones. The bike has digital resistance which allows you to program your workout for the resistance level from which you will receive the most benefit. It also has a built in fan to keep you cool, heart rate monitor and LCD display that tracks speed, time, distance and calories burned.
- Gold’s Gym Power Spin 210 Upright Bike – This exercise bike retails for around $200 and features adjustable resistance, pre-programmed workouts, built in MP3 music jack and heart rate monitor. The LCD tracks time, distance and calories burned.
- Gold’s Gym Crosstrainer Plus Elliptical – This hefty piece of equipment retails for around $800, but it is loaded with features to help you get the most of your workout. It has an interactive “coach” that talks to you though the built-in speakers. It also features interactive games that motivate you as you exercise. The elliptical comes with nine pre-programmed workouts which target different body parts for an overall workout while you train. It also features adjustable resistance for both upper and lower body, as well as a lighted console that allows you to track your statistics.
- Gold’s Gym treadmills – Treadmills from Gold’s Gym run the gamut in features and prices from around $500 to more than $1000. The features you receive determine how much you pay; however, all models feature adjustable resistance and slant, built in LCD displays to monitor stats and heart rate monitoring. The most expensive unit also features a built-in LCD television to keep you occupied while you walk or run.
