From LoveToKnow Exercise

Finding Indoor Cycling Bike Reviews

If you have a fitness store in your area and you trust the salespeople who work there, you can find out which bike is right for you in person. For most customers, it is a better idea to read bike reviews online in order to feel as though one is truly getting an unbiased opinion. Websites like Amazon offer customer reviews on every product they sell. Reading the reviews allows one to make an informed purchase.

Indoor Cycling Bikes

Indoor cycling bikes for at-home use don't need to cost as much as the professional bikes you use at your gym during your indoor cycling class. Of course, like anything else, there's a wide range of prices within which these bikes fall. Comparing the price tag with the quality of the bike is a good way to make one's final choice.

Over $1000

The Kettler Ergoracer is a great bike for those looking to purchase a bike for home usage that is almost as good as the bikes they use at the gym. In customer reviews, the Ergoracer generates very few complaints, being a quiet, smooth ride. A great feature of this bike is that if you stop pedaling, the fly wheel will continue to spin, but you can hold your feet still, just like on a real bike when you're coasting. Most indoor cycling bikes do not offer this feature. Even if you stop pushing the pedals with your muscles, your feet have to continue making circles because the pedals cannot stand still while the fly wheel is still moving. In short, this bike is a near-professional cycle for at-home use.

The Schwinn Evolution Cycle is not for the casual user either. Offering an excellently sturdy frame and a quiet ride, this bike is of high quality, which one should expect with the price tag. One user indoor cycling bike review warns that you must lube the brake pads before using the bike, or the bike is virtually useless. Follow all the instructions in the user's set-up guide, and you'll probably be very happy with this bike.

$500 to $1000

The Phoenix 98623 is a very sturdy bike at 115 pounds, with a 40-pound fly wheel. Users give this bike stunning reviews, saying that it performs (almost) as well as commercial bikes that cost twice as much. Although some customers have received bikes at home with a knob or two broken, the manufacturer will always replace such parts if you report the problem right away. This bike not only looks like the bikes you ride in your class at the gym, it also rides like them!

The LifeSpan Fitness Spin Bike packs a punch at just under $700. The 40-pound fly wheel makes this bike a sturdy home bike, with perhaps the only downfall (like many indoor cycling bikes under $1000) being the pedals. Most advanced bike riders change out the pedals for more professional pedals that are compatible with their cycling shoes. If this is the only adjustment you make to this bike, the price/quality tradeoff is excellent.

Under $500

The Stamina 9200 Indoor Cycling Bike is another bike that has gotten good reviews for its price category. Users say that the bike is sturdy, compact, and easy to move around the house because of the wheels on the front.

Regardless of which indoor bike you choose to buy, remember that these bikes are a great piece of low impact exercise equipment. Indoor cycling is easy on the joints, so there's no excuse not to work out every day!
