Hi Charlotte,

How far you run will depend on your fitness level. To avoid shin splints, don't overdo it at first. Work you way into jogging further by using intervals (walking and jogging). One way to do this is to use a stop watch. Jog to two minutes, walk for one, and continue to alternate until you've covered the distance you want to go. Eventually you can jog the entire way.
